The Application Process
After the application deadline has passed (February 28th Annually), each complete application is reviewed by a selection committee comprised of four full-time faculty and one staff member.
1. Each complete application is given careful consideration based on academic performance, future academic goals, research interest and background.
2. The committee identifies possible labs/projects for the most competitive applicants based on their research interest and lab interest indicated in the application.
3. Once a match has been confirmed the applicant will receive an invitation to join the Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). Acceptance of the invitation must be sent in writing by the deadline indicated in the communication.
A total of 10 undergraduate researchers will be selected for the summer program. Remaining applicants will be contacted once the selection is finalized.
