Sexually dimorphic patterns

Dr. Vanya Quinones Jenab, also a biopsychologist, investigates the sexually dimorphic patterns in behavioral responses to cocaine in all phases of the cocaine addiction process (induction, maintenance, and relapse). The biological basis of sex-specific differences in cocaine addiction resides in the disparate regulation of the CNS by male and female gonadal hormones.  She identified a phosphor protein, DARPP-32 that mediates the intracellular pathways responding to cocaine.  It is activated by dopamine and cAMP and its activation shows sex differences, as well as differences during the estrous cycle in response to hormonal fluctuations. Dr. Vanya Quinones Jenab and Dr. Shirzad Jenab collaborate extensively,  and their work is highly significant and collaborative, as illustrated in the  bibliometric study of our evaluator, Concept Systems Inc (CSI) shown in Figure ##.
