Summer Research Program

Program Description:
The Summer Program for Undergraduate Research of the Center for Study of Gene Structure & Function at Hunter College, City University of New York, was established in 1994. The goal of the Institute is to prepare and encourage U.S. undergraduate students to pursue graduate Biomedical Research.

College Sophomore or Junior with Biology, Chemistry, Biopsychology, or Biophysics Major and U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Members of Minority Groups Under-represented in Science (African American, Latino, Native American, Alaskan Natives, Pacific Islander) are especially encouraged to apply.

Stipend Info:
Stipend: $ 3,000

Housing:
Housing: International House in Manhattan at no cost for those unable to commute. The International House located on the scenic Riverside Drive has provided a unique cultural experience to graduate students and interns for over 70 years. It is a vibrant community of more than 700 graduate students and trainees who represent more than 100 countries each year.

Travel Support:
Reimbursed after arrival, for those traveling from out of town.

Application Deadline:
Applications should be submitted by February 1st.

The SPUR Program 2007 will run for approximately 8 weeks from June 4th - August 2nd.
